I can wholeheartedly recommend Lexington Law. When I was being harassed by debt collectors who had completely destroyed my credit, Lexington Law took my case and solved my problems. Lexington Law explained every step of the process to me, helped me understand my rights, and got results!
For me, the trouble started when I lost my job. Before that, I was on a very tight budget but I was able to keep up with all of my obligations. When I lost my steady income, I started falling behind on my bills. I stretched my savings as far as I could, but in the end there were some bills that I simply could not pay.
Several of these unpaid bills got sold to collection agencies. I began to receive tons and tons of mail from LVNV Funding and Palisades, the two debt collection agencies that had picked up my debt accounts. Plus, representatives from both agencies called me almost every day.
The pressure from my debt collectors made me feel even more stressed out about finding a new job. I tried to explain my situation to LVNV Funding and Palisades over the phone, but it was clear that they were not interested in my story. To them, I was just a case, just a number on a piece of paper. They wanted my money so that they could get their commission, and that was it.
As time passed, my debts grew and grew due to the outrageous interest and fees that the debt collectors had imposed. My conversations with LVNV Funding and Palisades got more and more frustrating. Every time I talked to them, I felt worse about myself and about my situation. Eventually I stopped answering the phone altogether. Being unable to answer the phone made it impossible for me to take calls from potential employers, but I felt like I had no other option.

LVNV Funding and Palisades Almost Ruined My Credit Report Forever. My credit score dropped down to 501.
In an effort to bully me into paying them, LVNV Funding and Palisades both began reporting my debts to the credit bureaus. Soon I was receiving notices from TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax showing that my credit report was full of “collection items” from my debt collectors. My credit score dropped to 501 as a direct result!
I realized that I couldn’t just let LVNV Funding and Palisades harm my credit that way. Good credit is essential to a lot of things in life, including finding a new job. Many employers now run credit reports on job applicants as a matter of routine. I knew that if a potential employer saw my dismal credit score, then he or she would have serious reservations about hiring me.
I needed a new job to get out of debt and repair my credit, but I needed good credit to get a new job. It was a real conundrum! I couldn’t wait the years it would take for the collection items to just fall off my credit report on their own, so I knew I had to take action.
I googled credit repair service and discovered Lexington Law. Right away, I learned some important things about credit repair and debt disputes:
-It’s not a good idea to try to dispute your debts on your own. Unless you’re a lawyer, you won’t have the legal expertise and understanding needed to get control of the situation. If you write too many unprofessional letters to your debt collector, they will mark your dispute as frivolous and ignore your complaints.
-The first step in a debt dispute is to initiate debt validation. This means that you force the debt collection company to prove that you owe your debt. If they can’t prove it, you don’t owe it.
-There is a statute of limitations on debt collection. It varies by state, but debt collectors are forbidden to collect on debts that are over a certain age. You should never pay a collection agency a single dollar without checking the statute of limitations. Making a payment can restart the statute of limitations and make you responsible for the debt.
-Consumers are protected from harassment and shady tactics by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Now that I knew that there were tried and true tactics for disputing debt and fighting back against debt collectors like LVNV Funding and Palisades, I felt a lot more hopeful about the situation. I got still more hopeful when I learned more details about Lexington Law itself:
-Lexington Law has been in business since 1991.
-Lexington Law’s staff is made up of 24 attorneys and over 200 paralegals and agents who operate in 19 states.
-Customer support is available 24/7.
-Lexington Law offers a free consultation and a no-risk refund policy.
-In 2010 alone, Lexington Law removed one million negative items from their clients’ credit reports.
I could tell that Lexington Law was a reputable company that could provide the expertise I needed to solve my credit problems. I was especially impressed by their no-risk refund policy. To me, that says that they are supremely confident that they can deliver good results for their clients.

Lexington Law Deleted LVNV Funding and Palisades from My Credit Reports within Days. My Score Increased as a results, around 120 Points.
Also, I liked that Lexington Law has a commitment to educating consumers about credit and about debt collection practices.
When I called Lexington Law, a friendly, professional representative took my call. I was impressed with the thoughtful way she answered all of my questions. I also appreciated that her attitude was the complete opposite of my debt collectors’. She actually treated me like a human being, not like a case number. In fact, she wanted to know about my financial goals and why it was I had decided to repair my credit right then. I told her I was unemployed and needing to get back on my feet. She completely understood, and was very optimistic about my prospects.
Her optimism was contagious. As soon as I hung up the phone after hiring Lexington Law, I felt good about myself again. I had finally taken a positive step forward, and I was done hiding from my problems. I felt confident, and I happily took that confidence with me to my next set of job interviews.
Within a very short time, I received proof from the credit bureaus that my LVNV Funding collection item had been removed! Lexington Law had come through for me and delivered on their promise. Since the LVNV collection item was my largest debt, I was really happy to have it removed. But Lexington Law didn’t stop there! They also successfully disputed my Palisades collection item, plus several other black marks on my record.
For the first time in months, I could answer the phone without fear that a grumpy debt collector was on the other end. And I could stop throwing out an entire tree’s worth of mail from debt collectors each week.
Once Lexington Law had removed my collection items, my credit score began to climb. Soon my score of 501 was all but forgotten, and my credit report showed a healthy 745 rating.
